Took the Holidays OFF... Uh Oh!

So, this is my first posting...and first weigh in since the dreaded "Holidays". I have to admit, I say I took the time off from weighing in to save myself some stress but I was kind of hitting a bit of a wall there for a bit. I have my steam back again though! This coming Monday starts a team weightloss competition at work and I am looking forward to KICKING SOME BUTT, (and losing some butt while I am at it!) :)

I imagine you're wondering what my results were? Well, I ended up gaining .5 lbs back and didn't find it as hard to stick to my rules afterall! I just kept reminding myself that the cookie would taste awesome for about 3 min., (if I chewed VERY slowly) and it would take me WAYYYY longer to recoup after gaining.

Maybe this is what they call a lifestyle change?? Either way, it works so far. :)

Next Tuesdays post will include my comments after my first "insanity" workout. Apparently its by the same ppl who do P90x, and since my treadmill has yet to pique my interest I am actually kind of excited to have a plan to stick to. Just hope I don't die doing some psycho wokrout though!

Total to Date:

So, I decided today that I am going to count in everything I have lost thusfar - it will help me get to 75 by May and then I can keep going after that to get to the number that the charts say.

Counting my brief gym membership pounds from this fall I have lost a total of 24! Holy Crap!

Week 4, SUSPENSE!!

After an entire weekend of drinking and making/eating cookies I wasn't actually going to get on the scale this AM and weigh in. I haven't really thought about having a "bad" week since I have been on a roll since starting about a month ago.

This morning however, I did weigh in after reminding myself that the only thing that is holding me back this time around is myself. So, I lost 1 pound this week. Not awesome, but definitely not the scale tipping 5-6 I thought I had packed on.

So, after falling short this week...I will be on the treadmill in the AM and each day thereafter. Please ask me how I am doing with that, as accountability is the best way to motivate!

Week 3!

So, this is a day late...had a migraine yesterday that kept me home from work. I didn't have the energy to login and post, I did however hop on the scale to find that I lost 3 lbs! WOO!!! I didn't meet my goal of 5, which is due to still not getting on the treadmill. Its like this weird fear or something, I will justify almost ANYTHING these days to avoid it. Cleaning the house is the usual culprit...Ben appreciates the spotless house but wtf??

This week, I need some serious willpower - before all this I planned a big Cookie Baking Frenzy at the cabin that is sure to include many many sugary treasures, alcohol, and munchy snacks, All downfalls of mine.

Hoping for another 2-3 next week, that's the pace I need to keep to stay on track...


PS - Wrote out Christmas cards yesterday, made them on shutterfly with about 5 pics of us. Can't wait to send one next year with pictures that I actually look good in!!! :)

Week 2!

Here's my post-thanksgiving post....

I'll cut to the chase and say that I ended up losing 2 lbs this week!! Better than I thought since I KNOW I cheated a bit, but on the low side if I want to get my 50 asap. I really think it has something to do with so many days outside of my normal routine and not drinking water like usual! Next week, shooting for 5! The plan is to hit the treadmill...

Week 1....Drum Roll Please!

So, its officially the end of my week 1 on my new adventure of becoming the skinny bitch that I was meant to be. Before I tell everyone my progress, I'll share a little about the weeks' progress.

First, I am fiending for an ice cold diet coke. I can give up anything it seems and replace it with a healthier option except this...I am nearly salivating thinking about cracking open that beautiful silver can. Mmm. Next, I did an awesome job sticking to my 1500 calories or less, most days I actually came in at 1200 or 1300. Woo!

My new discovery for the week, Sugar Snap Peas! I've NEVER tried them before and think they are my new favorite thing to mindlessly snack on both at work and watching TV. Even Mr. Rookie likes them! :)

Although I made a deal with Manda to start an exercise program yesterday Mr Rookie had different ideas and we spend the evening at the vet. So, we'll be starting that piece of the journey tomorrow. Then comes turkey day...I vow to stay busy and now nibble on stuff....I can do it!!!

And now, for the final results...I LOST SIX POUNDS THIS WEEK!!! I feel so energized to keep truckin' along...I know from previous attempts at this that the first two weeks' weight loss are seriously Biggest Loser style numbers. I don't care, six is six, and I am well on my way to 75...which ends up being about 3 pounds a week. Keep truckin!!

New Beginnings...

Well, its day 2 after realizing that the person that I "see" myself as isn't the same person that others around me see. I am 48 hours into my new life and am realizing that I need everyone around me to know what my goals are, selfishly because I am hoping people will think twice before tempting me and that maybe just maybe I will find a weight loss buddy that is just as serious as I am!

Thus, the blog. Here's to new beginnings!
